Governance

This page provides information about the structure and governance of South Somerset Together.

The LSP:

Reviews its Constitution and Terms of reference at its Annual General Meeting held in June each year;

Reviews its structure to ensure it is fit for purpose;

Considers the organisations that make up its membership to ensure that the Board is representative of all sectors;

Carries out an annual assessment of how it operates to ensure it is achieving its goals and agrees an action plan of changes it needs to make to improve its performance;

Encourages individuals and organisations to attend its meetings and comment on the activities discussed.

The table shows the LSP has five theme sub-groups and two sub-committees to administer its business.

The Infrastructure Delivery Plan is a vital element of the Local Development Framework (LDF) Core Strategy. The Local Development Framework is the spatial expression of the Sustainable Community Strategy for the district. This high priority project ensures that all the LSP Partners are involved in its development. This sub-group is established as a task and finish group, from September 2009 to April 2010 and one of its roles will be to facilitate engagement with infrastructure organisations and stakeholders across the district.
