South Somerset Together's third Annual General Meeting

Over 30 people attended the AGM on Wednesday 17th June 2009 at Long Sutton Golf Course, Long Load, near Langport.

Paull Robathan was reaffirmed as the independent Chairman of the local strategic partnership for another year. His report focused on three key points:

1. The launch of Shaping South Somerset- a strategy for sustainable communities (2008-2026) at the Zero-Som event earlier that week. He explained how this blue print document has taken over two years to develop and that all the LSP's partner organisations are committed to delivering the 50 actions. Copies of the Strategy are available to download or order (Price: £10.00 + P&P) on this website. Link to Documents

2. The support of key people on the LSP Board whom he went on to thank.

3. The Sustainable Communities Act 2007 and how current proposals would be voted on by a newly established Citizen's Panel of 1,000 local residents to bring forward a short list of priorities that require Government action to the Local Government Association by 31st July 2009. These will be considered at the LSP's Board meeting on Friday 17th July 2009.
